Set off at about 10:00 weather good. Today is the last part of the Norwegian great motorcycle journey and I go over the Stryfell Road and then the trollstein pass. These are supposed to be great biking roads, but are often shrouded in cloud, and sure enough atb the top you couldn't see a thing.
The road down into Andlnes vis the Trolsten pass is a very impressive set of hairpin bends with waterfalls splashing across the roads. There was an almighty traffic jam of tourist coaches trying to get up and down this pass. These coaches can only pass at the hairpins and at one time there was coaches reversing back up to hairpins. I managed to squeeze past ( without damaging my pannier!!) and took photos of thew jammed traffic from lower down
At one tiome you come out from a tunnel and before you is the Geranger fjord with a massive cruise boat anchored.
Dropped the bike again today, came off a ferry and was in a line of traffic wating to turn right, my turn came and I must have been in the wrong gear, the bike stallad and lurched a bit and I couldn't hold it again, so once more I had to lay it down gently. People came from the traffic behind and helped me agioan lift it upright, no real damage done, though my right hand guard is now held on with gaffer tape !! I was surprised I couldn'h hold the bike and keep it upright, need to be more aware of this in future! Have decided to ride further north and not get the ferry into Finland.
Preswed on to Trondheim and decided to get a hotel. Nice Comfort Hotel 650Kr inc breakfast. very modern and clean. Just stood in the shower and luxuriated in the warm water.
Went out and had a meal in an Irish pub. Guinness and irish stew 250Kr the meal was 150Kr the beer 100kr !! expensive country. Went onto the hotel internet but after about 2 mins on the blogsite the system kept going very slow. Tried a number of times but think the problem was with the hotel server ???
Bike secured to the railings on the pavement outside the hotel.
