Sunday August 22nd milage 6020 Zakopane Poland

Up early and packed suitcase to leave at Wentzel Hotel for when we return to Krakow and then off to the bus station to catch a bus for Zakapane.  Bus service is very efficient, one leaves evry 30mins to Zakapane and 18zltz and 2hrs 15mins later and we were in Zakapane.  set tomtom for the hotel address and knew it was just 2km away.  Asked taxi driver and he wanted 50zlty whixh we knew was about twice the right fare so decided to walk and see the town on the way.  Found out from tourist office where the cable car and funicular railway were located and also that Zakapane was in the middle of a week long folklore festival.
had a beer in the heat and then went to the funicular railway.  bumnped into Dina on the way ( heard a familiar voice telling Charlie off) and agreed to see them later.
funicular railway was very good it gave zou a good view of the Tatra mountains and the valley below.

The apartment was called Jan Villas and was very nice.  We had a room right up in the loft space with a great view!!

Ordered a taxi (from a recomended firm) and went to Dinas.  Had trouble finding the place, but aftrer a couple of phone calls and a few reversals of direction we eventually found the place.

Lovely evening with Dina and family also other friends Margareta and Blodvik and an english couple who were staying at one of the apartments, though he was from a Polish background.

Taxi back was fine, nice new mercedes.
