Slept well in the challet despite the bed being very hard and only a thin mattress.
Rained through the night, but not raining as I set off about 8:30.
Breakfast at a petrol station just outside Szeged. Lots of roadworks getting out of Szeged, no diversion signs or obvious routes so just had to follow compass bearing and eventually found may way back onto the correct road.
Riding along and getting myself quite worked up about the insurance issue. If it turns out that I have not been insured in Romania, then if I had knocked down say a pedestrian I think I would have been open to have been sued for a massive amount of money. It doesn´t bear thinking about really!!
Anyway it was going around and around in my head and I was working myself into a real Victor Meldrew mood, and I thought this is ridiculous. Deal with it when you get home. So I put on the headphones and listened to Bill Bryson "A Brief History of Nearly Everything" which at least stopped me thinking about the insurance.
No incidents on the road at all. Took a nice photo of a town with clouds and mountains as a backdrop, and a huge television mast sticking out of the clouds, seemingly disconnected from the ground. Town also had another huge power station.
Later in the day I was riding along and got hit in the throat by a big insect., which then fell inside my tee-shirt. Stopped and got it out and it was one of those big flying beetles. Just as well it wasn´t a bee or wasp!!
Carried on to the town near the Hungarian/Slovenian border called Nagykanczsa and decided to stop in a penzione for a comfortable night and wash all my dirty clothes etc.
Woman at the penzione recommended a place called Robinson´s. Too much choice, so settled for something simple (grilled meat) to try and consolidate matters in the digestive department.
More later
