Good night´s sleep and then we walked around the corner to Maria´s where she had already prepared breakfast for us all.
June, Jenny, Savi and myself then drove over the Croatian border to see a small village where Tito had lived as a child and which had been preserved to show typical rural life in Yugoslavia. It was a fascinating place with lots of really good reconstructions. It was like the display in Beamish (in Durham) depicting life in the early 20th century!!
Back to Maria´s where she had again prepared a beautiful lunch, this time soup with some traditional style pasta content, then turkey breasts mashed potato and of course th lovely fresh salad dtraight from her garden. After lunch we relaxed in her garden drinking her delicious red wine, cracking walnuts we had picked of the floor during our walks and eating the delicious plum tart that Maria had made.
We all said our goodbye´s with gifts of honey and grapes and wine from Maria, and then made our way back.
Savi and I were dropped in Ljubljana and June and Jenny wnt back to June´s.
Savi and I walked into the centre and tried to get an hotel, but there was a conference of some sort on and the tourist office could only fins us an expensive hotel some distance from the centre. I took Savi to the hostel where I had stayed when I was in Ljubljana and we managed to get beds there. In fact we even managed to get a room to ourselves (well when I say room I really mean a closet), but it was clean and very convenient for jut going out and walking in the city.
We had a beautiful meal in a indian restaurant called "Nameste", and then walked through the town just looking at the sights and relaxing. There was a passing along the river with an orchestra playing music and on each occasion I tried to take a small video to get the sound the would just seem to stop at that moment !!
Back to the hostel, and we have plans to take one of the walking city tours tomorrow before getting the bus back to June´s house in Hotemaze.
More later
