Up a couple of times in the night with Diarrhoea, problem not gone away yet!!
Weather looks pretty good in the morning so have decided to go to water park.
The waterpark costs 2500 Flt ( about 7 pounds 50p) for a morning. Great place, massive slides, chutes and water pummelling pools. Came hoping to be relaxed and refreshed, but feel aching all over and knackered. Shades of the Tarzan experience, but it was just sitting there asking to be done!!
Lunch of turkey and vegatable broth, which was very nice, and then a stroll around town to see what´s happening. Noticed that this is a big student town, with lots of young people with books/bags moving about the place. Also this is the first time I have seen any black people in pretty much all of eastern europe. Quite a lot of people are speaking in english !!
Diarrhoea came back to haunt me !!
After the turkey soup felt really tired and sat down and had 40 winks. Woke up feeling awful, crick in the neck and aching all over. I think most of the aching came from the water pummelling massage !
Walked around town ( you can do a complete circumfrance in just 1 hour) and Szeged has some interesting architecture, not sure what all the styles are though. Apparently there was a very big flood in 1870 that virtually destroved the town and it has been rebuilt with wide boulevards and in a myriad of different styles.
Went to the libray to update the blog, Savi called when I was in library and we are now both totally confused about the insurance situation. She has spoken to bennetts three times and had three different answers.
It seems reasonable now to assume I will not be covered in Croatia. What bothers me more is the message from Savi that I have not been covered whilst in Romania. This seems like an enormous risk, and I am very angry about it, and determined to get to the bottom of this issue when I return!! My memory is that I wrote down on my insurance policy at home whilst on the phone to Bennetts the countries where I had cover, and I am sure Romania was covered.
I can see myself just like Jack Dawson in the Titanic writing "a strongly worded letter" to Bennetts when I get back!!
Went and listened to a band who were playing in the central square and then decided to try and eat something else. Went to a basement "student" type place but thewre was no english menu, so asked for soup. The young girl said yes they have soup, I asked what kind she said "frooeat", and I thought bugger it I´ll have it anyway it will be warm and filling I`m sure. When it came it was cold "fruit" soup made with cherries and raspberrys. Very nice, but not the thing for someone with diarrhoea!!
Moved on to another place and had spaghetti with ham, mushroom sauce .
More later
